ARIA Award winning composer/producer Helena Czajka blends her classical training from Australia and her work as an orchestrator in Tokyo, with a passion for sound design and electronic textures. Her distinctive style and unique approach can be heard across her film and TV projects.

Helena has composed the music for acclaimed productions including BLIND AMBITION (Third Man Films, Madman Entertainment) - which won the Audience Award for Best Feature Documentary at both Tribeca Film Festival and at Sydney Film Festival in 2021; SBS thriller series SAFE HOME (SBS); the Walkley Documentary Award-winning series REVELATION (ABC, In Films); THE TAILINGS (SBS), which won Best Short-Form Drama at the 2021 AACTA Awards; as well as episodes of the Emmy-winning hit children’s show BLUEY (ABC, BBC, Disney).

Helena has received a 2023 ARIA Award nomination in the category of Best Original Soundtrack or Musical Theatre Cast Album for UNSEEN SKIES (In Films, Participant Media). Helena crafted the music for this feature documentary by manipulating NASA-recorded sounds from space to create a distinctive and experimental score.

Helena has also received a 2023 APRA Screen Music Award nomination in the category of Best Music for a Television Series or Serial for the score she composed for the SBS drama series SAFE HOME.

Helena won an ARIA Award in 2021 for Best Children's Album and an APRA Screen Music Award for Best Soundtrack Album for her work on BLUEY: THE ALBUM. The album debuted at #3 on the US iTunes Charts and made history as the first ever children’s album to reach #1 on the Australian ARIA Charts.

Previous award nominations include Best Music in a TV Series at the APRA Screen Music Awards for her work on the AACTA Award-winning series AUSTRALIAN SURVIVOR (Network Ten).

Previous work includes the feature film BEAST (Third Man Films, Madman Entertainment) that received its premiere at Toronto International Film Festival, the TV series THE QUEEN AND ZAK GRIEVE (Foxtel’s Crime and Investigation Channel, In Films), MAKING MURIEL (ABC, In Films), and LOOK ME IN THE EYE (SBS, EndemolShine).

Helena obtained an Honours degree in Music Composition from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Helena is a member of The Australian Guild of Screen Composers (AGSC) and holds an AACTA Professional Membership.
